COOKIE POLICY
Premise
This site uses cookies and similar tools to ensure its proper functioning. This document, in accordance with the provision of the Italian Data Protection Authority no. 231 of June 10, 2021, which entered into force on January 10, 2022 , and which amended the so-called Cookie Law of May 8, 2014, informs users about the types of cookies used on the site and how they are tracked.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that websites visited by a user send to their terminal (usually the browser), where they are stored before being retransmitted to the same websites the next time the user visits them. While browsing a website, a user may also receive cookies sent from other websites or web servers (third-party cookies), which may contain elements (such as images, maps, sounds, specific links to pages on other domains) present on the website they are visiting.
Cookies, usually present in users' browsers in very large numbers and sometimes with characteristics of long persistence in time, are used for different purposes: performing computer authentication, monitoring sessions, storing information on specific configurations regarding users accessing the server, etc.
Finally, cookies can remain on the user's computer for long or short periods, depending on their characteristics.
Types of cookies
Session cookies are those that last as long as the user's online session and, when they leave the site, are automatically deleted, as they are no longer relevant to the site.
Permanent cookies : These are persistent cookies that remain stored on your device even after the browser session ends, until their expiry date.
First-party cookies They belong to the website visited, which transmits them directly to the visitor.
Third-party cookies: These come from third-party websites. The owner of the visited website has no control over these cookies and the related information. Disabling these cookies does not affect navigation in any way.
The use of these cookies is governed by the rules established by the third parties and, therefore, to manage or disable these cookies, users must read the privacy policies and instructions published on the websites of these third parties.
Categories of cookies
For the purposes of this provision, two macro-categories are identified: technical cookies and profiling cookies .
Technical cookies
Technical cookies are those used for the sole purpose of "carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or to the extent strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide such service" (see art. 122, paragraph 1, of the Code).
They are not used for other purposes and are usually installed directly by the website owner or operator. They can be divided into navigation or session cookies, which ensure normal navigation and use of the website (allowing, for example, purchases or authentication to access restricted areas); analytics cookies, similar to technical cookies when used directly by the website operator to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the site; and functionality cookies, which allow the user to navigate based on a set of selected criteria (for example, language, products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service provided.
Profiling cookies
Profiling cookies are designed to create user profiles and are used to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the user while browsing online. Given the potential invasiveness of these cookies on users' privacy, European and Italian legislation requires that users be adequately informed about their use and express their valid consent.
Article 122 of the Code refers to them when it states that "the storage of information in the terminal equipment of a contractor or user, or access to information already stored, is permitted only on condition that the contractor or user has given his or her consent after being informed using the simplified procedures referred to in Article 13, paragraph 3" (Article 122, paragraph 1, of the Code).
What cookies does this site use?
The site uses technical cookies that are strictly necessary for the correct functioning of its components (aimed at optimizing security, speed, and ensuring statistics are anonymous where possible), the management of comments, forms (whether contact or otherwise), registration, authentication, and user profiles.
Different tools and content may require the installation of third-party cookies in order to, for example, share articles and pages or embed multimedia elements such as YouTube videos. Disabling these cookies, while possible, currently prevents you from taking advantage of the features offered.
How to disable/remove cookies
You can usually customize your cookie settings by changing your browser settings, thus preventing their implicit and automatic acceptance. In most cases, however, this setting may prevent proper navigation on this and many other sites – cookies are, in fact, a useful and sometimes indispensable tool.
To modify or deny consent to the use of one or more cookies, you can follow and refer to the documentation for each browser:
